- Comment: So first off, yes it's pricey. Is it worth it? Yes! Clarity of sound is amazing from such a small, one piece system. I was pleasantly surprised and worried that my neighbors would hear the bass immediately. Turned down the sound considerably and had an air conditioner working at the same time and still, sound perfection! Highly recommend this system!!

Classy, sexy, yet a beast waiting to be "unleashed" It fills a large room; simple to operate; interchangeable dock system; composite video output/line input for other mp3 players/phones; GSM shielded for iPhones no more hissing sounds. Will work with internet radio like pandora.
While it's expensive and isn't loaded with features, the Bose SoundDock 10 is classy looking and sounds excellent for a compact iPod speaker. Clean Design. "Extremely" powerful. Deep bass delivery with virtually no distortion even at the highest volume. Crisp musical response. Two proprietary Bose Twiddler® transducers (a combination of a high-frequency transducer and mid-range driver) are optimally positioned in the front of the system to complete the full-range of accurate musical reproduction, Not to mention its massive 7" Woofer the punches deep and low.
@ almost 18lbs. for the system its massive and built precisely well, feels solid and refined. opposed to the sounddockII which weighs 4.5lbs I believe, it too sounds good minus the punch!
I own 7 Bose speakers on my SUV, Bose 5.1 surround theater speakers, a sounddock II which sounds crisp and clear... at most volume levels, but starts to distort and sound washes away at high volumes. If you are looking for a sounddock for classical music and low to medium volume levels only.. go with the sounddockII or portable and save $200-$300; but if u like loud thumping, crisp, clear room filling sound that will shock everyone that hears this and cant believe the sound is coming from this system. this is 4 u. Its great indoors and outdoors, u wont be disappointed. Great for replacing your main entertainment center. and will rock any party anytime. Cant wait for the bbq party this weekend. Also note theres no longer volume buttons on the system its all done by remote control... or u can manually adjust the volume from the ipod/iphone interface. the whole system is built on a shock absorber foundation to absorb vibrations from the powerful sub woofer. that's unique and amazing. very satisfied with this purchase... Bose offers a 30 day money back guarantee, u got nothing to loose... btw when u demo this system at retail stores. the sound that comes out of their pre selected tracks, sounds crappy and boring, which does the sd 10 no justice. Pop in one of your fav tracks and youll be BLOWN AWAY.
I bought this for a workout room and for entertaining guest and for outdoor BBQ's. any questions are welcomed.
The only thing that i would have liked to see would have been a standard built in bluetooth capability, instead of it being sold separately.

- Comment: OK, HA HA, Bose got me. I was really excited about the whole wave guide, simple, no wires, wonder. Finally found a local store to listen to the sounddock 10. I am an audiophile and I spend a lot of time listening to different styles of music. I know what sounds good. Unfortunately, the only thing Bose has done is created a tiny box that is very loud and clear. There is no seperation AT ALL! Imagine a microscopic orchestra playing at 95 decibels. That's what it sounds like. So you need a good sound system for a room and can't sacrifice space? Well are you really going to be listening to music as loud as a jumbo jet in a small room? If I was a millionaire I would probably buy this only because I could. In fact, I actually can afford to pay $600 for a quality sound system, but these waveguide gizmos are just a gimmick. If you need something for your ipod in a small area, check out the Altec Lansing In Motion series. They won't bust your eardrums, but they won't bust the bank either, and at comfortable volume levels, they sound excellent!
